Midtown Fire: Blaze Breaks Out In Whitby Hotel, FDNY Says

The fire broke out on the third floor of the upscale hotel on West 56th Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A fire broke out in the posh Whitby Hotel in Midtown Manhattan on Monday afternoon, an FDNY spokesman said.

Firefighters responded to the hotel — located on West 56th Street between Fifth and Sixth avenues — shortly before 1 p.m., an FDNY spokesman said. The fire broke out on the hotel's third floor, an FDNY spokesman said.

No injuries have been reported, an FDNY spokesman said.
