Midtown Subway Slasher Arrested, Police Say
The accused slasher got into an argument with another man on a Midtown subway station platform before slicing the victim on the face.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — A man is facing charges for slashing a subway passenger after an argument on a Midtown station platform, police told Patch.
Albert Vega, 29, was arrested in connection with a Wednesday slashing that occurred on the platform of the West 34th Street and Eighth Avenue subway station, police said. Vega and a 35-year-old victim got into an argument on the station's northbound platform shortly before 3:15 a.m., police told Patch.
The altercation turned violent when Vega produced a sharp object and slashed the other man across the left cheek, police told Patch. Vega and an unidentified woman were seen fleeing the subway station together, police said.

Vega, a resident of East New York, Brooklyn, has been charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon, police told Patch.
The NYPD is still trying to identify and question the woman who was seen with Vega at the time of the stabbing, police said. The woman (pictured below) has a light complexion and was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, gray t-shirt and a black book bag, police told Patch.
