Mother, Child Fall To Their Deaths From Hell's Kitchen Building
A mother reportedly leapt with her five-year-old daughter from the roof of a 12-story Hell's Kitchen building on Sunday, killing them both.

HELL'S KITCHEN, NY — A mother and her five-year-old daughter were killed Sunday after the mother leapt from the roof of a Hell's Kitchen building while clutching her child, according to police and media reports.
Authorities responded around 1:33 p.m. Sunday to the 12-story building at 540 West 53rd St., where they found the two victims lying on the pavement with injuries consistent with a fall.
Police identified the mother as Oksana Patchin, 39, and the daughter as 5-year-old Olivia Patchin, both residents of Prospect Heights, Brooklyn. They were taken to Mount Sinai West Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Patchin had been visiting a friend at the Hell's Kitchen building when she asked to visit the rooftop, according to the New York Post. Cameras then captured the mother picking up her daughter before jumping off, the Post reported.
An investigation is ongoing, police said.
