NYC Off-Broadway Week: 2-For-1 Tickets Go On Sale

NEW YORK, NY — Ticket sales for NYC Off-Broadway Week — the promotional event where theater lovers can enjoy two Off-Broadway shows for the price of one — launched Monday, New York City's tourism agency announced.

NYC Off-Broadway Week will run from Feb. 12 to Feb. 25, and will feature 36 productions this winter. While the shows don't play in big-name Broadway theaters, a number of impressive productions will participate in off-Broadway week including "Jersey Boys," "Jerry Springer — The Opera" and "STOMP."

"The Off-Broadway theater community truly welcomes all as they continually offer a wide variety of entertaining productions for every audience type," Fred Dixon, president and CEO of NYC & Company, said n a statement.

NYC Off-Broadway Week was launched in 2009 and has featured more than 600 productions throughout the years, tourism officials said. The promotion has generated an estimated $3 million through ticket sales.

Two-for-one tickets can be purchased through NYC & Company's website. Twenty-two of the shows featured in NYC Off-Broadway Week are first-time participants in the promotion.

“This winter season features 22 new participants along with more than a dozen returning favorites, and we hope this value program entices both regular theatergoers and new audiences to come out and discover the exciting shows that Off-Broadway has to offer," Adam Hess, president of The Off-Broadway League, said in a statement."
