NYPD Releases Photos Of Midtown Stabbing Suspect

The suspect, who's described as having no front teeth, fled the scene of the stabbing on a bike.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a man who stabbed a skateboarder several times on a Midtown Manhattan street corner.

The man, who was riding a bicycle, cut the skateboarder off in the street on Monday night near West 42nd Street and Lexington Avenue, an NYPD spokesman said. The incident forced the skateboarder to fall to the ground and sparked an argument that would culminate in a physical fight several blocks away, police said.

During the fight, which occurred on the corner of West 47th Street and Lexington Avenue, the bicyclist stabbed the skateboarder in the thigh, stomach and back, police said. The man then fled the scene of the stabbing on his bike, police said.

The 22-year-old skateboarder was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition and is expected to survive his injuries, police said.

The stabbing suspect is described as a man in his 20s or 30s who stands 5-foot-9 and weighs about 175 pounds, police said. The NYPD released security camera footage of the man riding on his bicycle (seen above), but the footage is too grainy to clearly make out a face. The suspect is also described as having no front teeth, police said.
