Snag Free Food This Week At Grand Central Terminal

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — Navigating Grand Central Terminal generally isn't a pleasant experience. For tourists the transit hub's many halls and pathways can act like an elaborate maze, and for native New Yorkers a trip to Grand Central means having to deal with those tourists.

But this week visitors to Grand Central Station can take advantage of free samples being handed out at several of the dining concourse's restaurants including Shake Shack, Magnolia Bakery and Prova Pizzabar. And free food can turn any unpleasant experience into a positive one.

The free samples will be distributed daily from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. and 4-5 p.m. as part of the "Taste of the Dining Concourse," promotional event.

Here's a list of which restaurants are participating and what they're serving up:

Café Spice

• Papdi Chaat (crispy wheat crisps layered with potato, chutney, yogurt, chickpeas and spices)

Central Market New York

• Monday: Marinated Flank Steak
• Tuesday: Stuffed pork loin
• Wednesday: Roasted Turkey and Corned Beef
• Thursday: Pork Belly
• Friday: Brisket and Pastrami

Eata Pita

• Falafel balls (AM sessions only)

Hale & Hearty Soups

• Wild mushroom, lemongrass, and ginger simmer over rice vermicelli noodles
• Chicken curry with apple, mint over coconut basmati rice

Jacques Torres Ice Cream

• Jacques Torres Ice Cream will be sampling items from their savory menu!

La Chula

• Mini agua de horchata
• Mini tostada with guacamole
• Mini tacos
• Mini ice cream
• Mini tostada with ceviche

Magnolia Bakery

• Banana pudding

Prova Pizzabar

• Donatella Arpaia's famous, award-winning meatballs
