While jazz music may have originated in New Orleans, today New York City is one of the best places in the world to listen to live jazz music. There are plenty of top-tier jazz clubs hosting live jazz performances every night of the week in the city that never sleeps. Here are a few of the best jazz clubs in New York City to check out.

Dizzy’s Club

Across town on the upper west side is Dizzy’s Club. Located at Frederick P. Rose Hall, the club can be found on the top floors of the Time Warner Center. It’s unique, elevated surroundings make for a one of a kind jazz experience that is truly the epitome of Manhattan, overlooking Columbus Circle.

Smalls

A true authentic jazz club, Smalls provides you with an experience that is true to the heart and soul of jazz music. While the basement may seem off-putting for some patrons, it gives off more of a speakeasy vibe. When you mix that with the sounds of jazz, you’ll get one of the most authentic, intimate experiences the city’s jazz scene has to offer, all in West Village.
Of course, there are dozens of other jazz clubs that can be found in New York City if the ones on this list don’t have exactly what you’re looking for. The New York City jazz scene is one of the best in the world, and catching one of these live performances in the city makes for an experience like no other.
