Teens Help Fight Hunger and Food Insecurity by Assembling Hundreds of Food Packages for Needy New Yorkers
Interfaith event with UJA-Federation of New York and Catholic Charities
On Sunday, January 22, 2017, 50 teenagers from UJA-Federation of New York and Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New York gathered at UJA-Federation’s Manhattan office to assemble 300 packages of food donated by Goya for the Food Bank for New York City. The teens also discussed issues surrounding hunger, and wrote advocacy letters to Senator Schumer about food insecurity and why it needs to be addressed. This initiative was through Feeding Our Neighbors: An Interfaith Response, which is a united effort to fight hunger.
