Times Square Movie Theater To Become Star Wars Fan's Dream

The Regal E-Walk Stadium on West 42nd Street will show "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" 24-hours a day on all its screens opening weekend.

MIDTOWN MANHATTAN, NY — The hype is real. "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" — the latest installment in the decades-old but still extremely popular sci-fi franchise — drops this weekend and one movie theater in Times Square is planning to offer fans the ultimate Star Wars experience.

The Regal E-Walk Stadium on West 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue is set to transform into New York City's "official Star Wars Command Center" for the movie's opening weekend, according to a Regal press release.

Starting Friday, every single one of the theater's screens will be dedicated to showing "The Last Jedi" 24 hours per day, the movie theater announced. The screenings will be conducted in numerous viewing formats — 4DX, RPX, 3D and 2D — so every fan will have a chance to see the film however they prefer.

But there's more.

The theater will also hold a marathon in which ticket holders will be able to see every Star Wars films in succession ending with "The Last Jedi." Marathoners will receive a commemorative blanket, popcorn tub and collectible Star Wars cup, according to a press release.

The Regal E-Walk Stadium is committed to offering Star Wars fans the ultimate viewing experience in more ways than nonstop screenings of the movie. The theater is rolling out new recliner seats and will have Star Wars virtual reality and photo booths. Fans will also have the opportunity to catch a glimpse of some of their favorite characters walking around the theater.

"At Regal, we are thrilled to make E-Walk the non-stop Star Wars destination," Ken Thewes, chief marketing officer at Regal Entertainment Group, said in a statement. "The Force is strong at E-Walk where fans can experience Star Wars in 4DX, RPX, 3D, VR or traditional 2D screenings, in the comfort of our new luxury recliner seating."
