1 Caught Dumping Deer Carcass, Transport Hitch At Rocky Point State Forest: DEC
They were charged with two counts of illegally depositing waste on state lands, the DEC said.

ROCKY POINT, NY — A person caught dumping a deer carcass at Rocky Point State Forest admitted to being paid to dispose of it and then also dumping a hitch carrier to evade detection, the state Department of Environmental Conservation said Thursday.
On March 12, a forest ranger saw a vehicle leaving the scene of someone dumping a deer carcass at the forest's parking lot, and after investigating the scene, saw the same vehicle on a nearby road adjacent to the forest, according to the agency.
The driver was disposing of the hitch carrier used to transport the deer carcass, and when they were interviewed, they admitted to being paid by someone to dispose of it, the DEC said.
