Sound Beach Senior Overcomes Loss, Earns Full Scholarship To Nursing Program

She is my daughter

Tell us about your star student's accomplishments and why they deserve to be recognized on Patch!

After she and her younger brother lost their mother to breast cancer in 2015, they persevered and did amazingly in school. Then COVID hit, and I homeschooled them, where they excelled. In 2023, she and her brother, Alexander, found me having convulsions in my sleep, choking on my blood. They knew how to respond and kept me alive while waiting for the ambulance.

Three years later, they are still straight-A students, both working after-school jobs and taking care of me through my health struggles. With all of that, Isabella has received a full scholarship to Saint Joseph’s University, where she will begin a bachelor’s program in nursing this coming fall.
