• 'Thousands Grieving': Families Of LI's Purple Rock Project Remembers Loved Ones Lost To Opioids, Fentanyl (patch.com) — Families from across Long Island, including those connected to Miller Place, gathered at Hope House in Mount Sinai to honor loved ones lost to opioids and fentanyl by placing more than 100 hand-painted purple rocks in a memorial garden. The Purple Rock Project, led by grieving parents, also offers naloxone training and education at local community events, with additional permanent rock locations in Islip and Babylon.
