AP Scholars Commended in Rocky Point

Students from the classes of 2014 and 2015 honored.

Seventy-two members of the Class of 2014 and 2015 at Rocky Point High School have been named Advanced Placement Scholars, a distinction given to students by the College Board based on their cumulative performance on AP exams.

The number of AP scholars in Rocky Point has grown tremendously over the past several years as the district has offered more AP courses. In 2013, the high school boasted 27 scholars and this year’s number of 72 more than doubles that amount.

The honor of AP Scholar with Distinction was granted to Tejas Tope, who received an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
