6-Alarm Blaze Rips Through Home In Rocky Point: Authorities

UPDATE: No one was hurt, authorities say.

ROCKY POINT, NY — Suffolk police arson squad detectives are investigating a fire that broke out at a Rocky Point home early Wednesday, authorities said.

The fire started at the Vine Road home just after 6 a.m., drawing local firefighters, and it was knocked down a half-hour later at around 6:30 a.m., Suffolk Fire, Rescue, and Emergency Services said.

In addition to Suffolk police, altogether, nine different agencies responded, including six fire departments, Port Jefferson Ambulance, and the Brookhaven Town Fire Marshal's office.
