Batman... Joker gone wild in Gotham, Long Island

New weapon added to the Bat Cave arsenal: Naloxone

Batman appeared first back in 1939. The Hero that saved Gotham has been around for over 4 generations! However, we now are in a new era with a new kind of Riddler and the Joker isn't taken seriously enough! At today's Long Island Moose Club's Car Show at Tanger Outlets, North Fork Cruisers Car Association founder completed the simple course training of "Batman," Rocky Point's John Marchese and handed him his certificate of completion and his Narcan kit. Now, the caped crusader is further equipped to do his work on Gotham City, Long Island!

This year's Long Island Car Clubs Council was administrated by North Fork Cruisers Car Association. A theme proposed by Peter and his Wife Dianne Oleschuk, founders, to get as many people in place trained with Narcan was well received by over 75 clubs attending. So far this year, the car club communities have been impacted by the loss of no less than 5 young lives. "We are all taking this as a serious Community Service for ourselves and our community family!" said Mr. Oleschuk.

The Long Island Council of Car Clubs is an assembly of car clubs through out Long Island that for decades has led the use of displaying classic cars and trucks in various venues to raise funds for an immense list of local and regional charitable causes. You'll find these clubs with their beautiful displays in vineyards, parks, beach resort areas, church parking lots, and even on various campuses. This event was held at the Tanger Mall entrance by the Long Island Moose Club. It's a "traditional event" that the Riverhead looks forward to. Today's event had live music provided by the "Crossing Sunrise Band" and "DJ Jerry." There were refreshments, raffles and a diverse selection of classic cars, custom and exotic cars. Features, a Delorian car that actually appeared in the "Back to the Future" movies and the "Batmobile."

The Long Island Moose Club was very eager to get on board the naloxolone training program. All of these clubs work together to benefit our community. A list of these clubs can be found at: https://www.licarclubs.org/our...

Dianne and Peter, along with several other members of the North Fork Cruisers Car Association car club have gone out of their way to be trained as "trainers." Dianne and Peter Oleschuk are volunteer trainers under the Community for Action for Social Justice program. Hopes are that we can protect our vast community of car club families throughout Nassau and Suffolk County, plus the communities we live in. The trainers are available to any club that wants to jump on board. Car shows and meets already on calendar will provide education on the issue and narcan administration to those that feel there's a need for them to be prepared.
