(mostly) TRUE THINGS is a game wrapped in a storytelling show. A fantastic line-up of storytellers - some experienced comics and performer, some taking the stage for the first time - share a true story. But some stories include subtle little lies. In Act 2, the audience gets to question the storytellers - who can improvise their responses - then votes for the person they think told their story with no lies. Some improvised, story-inspired music and songs written for the show by host/creator Jude Treder-Wolff are additional ingredients for a high-energy, often hilarious, emotion-packed and entertaining show. There are prizes involved, if you can believe a thing like that (you totally can!)
The theme for the stories in this show is IT'S COMPLICATED! Messy, interesting life experiences shared by:
Shoshana Rubin, an Emmy-winning television producer and artist
Calvin Cato, a comic who performs in clubs and venues all over the country, has been featured on RISK! The Story Collider and many other shows
Carline Napolitano, a psychotherapist, poet and writer telling a story onstage for the first time
Zachary Lennon-Simon, a union organizer, storyteller and writer
Jude Treder-Wolff, host/producer, created (mostly) TRUE THINGS in 2014, performs all over NYC and around the country, multiple Moth-winner, featured in Generation Women at Joe's Pub, New Tricks, Gather NYC at the Museum Of Art and Design in NYC, Story District in Washington D.C., Ex Fabula in Milwaukee, WI, and many others.
