Councilman Bonner Co-Sponsors the Stony Brook Cancer Center

Mobile Mammography Van at Diamond in the Pines Park

No-cost mammograms offered on Saturday, June 29

Farmingville, NY- On Saturday, June 29, the Stony Brook Cancer Center Mobile Mammography Van will make a special visit to Diamond in the Pines Park in Coram to provide breast cancer screenings from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. This service, co-sponsored by Councilwoman Jane Bonner, is provided at no cost to the patient. However, appointments are required. Anyone interested can call (631)-638-4134 for more information or to schedule an appointment. Diamond in the Pines Park is located at 1844 Route 112 in Coram. This project is supported with funds from Health Research Inc. and the New York Department of Health. The event is co-sponsored by the Suffolk County Police Department, who will provide Child Passenger Safety Inspections and Canine and Emergency Service demonstrations. There will also be music, games and giveaways.

  • Female (40 years and older)
  • Last mammogram (if any) more than 366 days ago
  • Not pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Does not have implants or breast issues
  • Has never been diagnosed with breast cancer
  • Has had an office visit with a gynecologist, primary care physician or internist within the past year who is willing to accept the results of the screening
  • Individuals who do not have health insurance will be processed through the Cancer Services Program of New York, if eligible
  • The patient’s insurance company will be billed accordingly to federal and NYS guidelines

Day of the mammogram: Do not wear deodorant, perfume, powders, lotions or creams on the breast area.
