Davis House Celebrates Plaque Unveiling

CORAM, NY – On Friday, April 27, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker attended a plaque unveiling ceremony at the Davis Town Meeting House in Coram. The plaque serves as a historic marker that states that the Lester H. Davis Town Meeting House was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001 by the United States Department of Interior. The plaque was provided by a grant from the William G. Pomeroy Foundation, an organization committed to supporting the celebration and preservation of community history.

“I would like to congratulate the Davis Town Meeting House Society for receiving this plaque and to the William G. Pomeroy for making it possible,” said Legislator Anker. “This plaque will forever signify that the Davis House is nationally recognized as a historical landmark.”

The Davis Town Meeting House Society, Inc. was formed exclusively for the charitable purpose of restoring and championing the conservancy efforts for the historic Lester H. Davis House in Coram, NY.
