Fleming, Maertz Announce Second Debate in Rocky Point
Democrats in a primary race to challenge Republican incumbent Sen. Kenneth LaValle to debate twice during the week.
Democrats Bridget Fleming, of Noyac, and Jennifer Maertz, of Rocky Point, will follow up with another debate in Rocky Point the following day.
The League of Women Voters of Brookhaven will moderate the debate hosted by LocalNews.com and held at the at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 30.
According to Maertz, she originally challenged Fleming to a debate in Rocky Point Aug. 22, which she declined. The two then agreed to the new date.

Maertz after stepping in as a late replacement, and she she would give it another go in February. Fleming, a Southampton Town councilwoman, formally her Senate run in late May.
The primary election, in which only registered Democrats may vote, will be Sept. 13. The general election is Nov. 6.
