Homeless Man Shoots Another Homeless Man in Suffolk County: Police

It happened Saturday afternoon, police say.

PORT JEFFERSON STATION, NY - A homeless man was arrested after he shot another homeless man multiple times in Port Jefferson Station Saturday afternoon, police said.

According to police, during a dispute, Alain Jean shot a 22-year-old man at the corner of Hallock Avenue and Union Street at about 12:35 p.m.

The victim, who police did not name, was transported via ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries.

Jean, 22, was charged with first degree assault and is scheduled to appear in First District Court in Central Islip on Sunday.

The investigation is continuing and police are asking that anyone with information call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.

The shooting comes just days after a homeless woman shot a homeless man to death in Coram, according to police.
