Laura Ahearn & Youth Honored at NSYC Celebration
On May 20th, North Shore Youth Council honored Laura Ahearn, Esq. and 150 youth at the Big Buddy-Little Buddy and Volunteer Celebration.

ROCKY POINT, N.Y. – On Monday, May 20, 2019, Laura Ahearn, attorney, founder, and executive director of Parents for Megan’s Law, was honored along with 150 youth at North Shore Youth Council's Big Buddy-Little Buddy and Volunteer Celebration at Majestic Gardens in Rocky Point. The celebration is held each year to recognize the youth involved in the peer mentoring program and to thank all the volunteers for donating their time and talents to the organization’s programs.
In attendance this year were NSYC Board of Directors and Trustees; Executive Director, Janene Gentile; NSYC Staff; the participants of the Big Buddy-Little Buddy and Junior Counselor programs; NSYC’s Youth Advisory Committee; and Laura Ahearn, Esq. Also present were Suffolk County Regional Representative for the Office of Governor Cuomo, Theresa Santoro; Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker; Suffolk County Legislator Robert Calarco; Councilwoman Jane Bonner; Director of Public Relations for the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, Kristin MacKay; Rocky Point Board of Education President, Susan Sullivan; and Executive Director for Educational Services for Rocky Point Schools, Susan Wilson.
North Shore Youth Council is a not-for-profit community-based agency dedicated to helping youth and families cope in today’s changing world.
