Central Islip, N.Y. – On Thursday, September 24th, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker met with representatives of the Touro Law Center’s Senior Citizen Law Program to learn about the services they provide to local seniors. The program provides Suffolk County residents 60 years and over with free comprehensive legal services by licensed attorneys.

“Touro Law’s Senior Citizens Program serves as an invaluable resource for local seniors,” said Legislator Anker. “I commend Touro Law for providing a unique free service that will help assist seniors with government benefits and other issues they may have.”

Through the program, seniors are offered assistances with issues relating to disability benefits, public assistance, landlord-tenant matters, home repair fraud, financial exploitation, Medicaid and more. Funding for this program is provided by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the New York State Office for the Aging through the Suffolk County Office for the Aging.
