Man Dies After Pickup Truck Crashes Into Telephone Pole in Sound Beach
The 49-year-old was reportedly a beloved security guard and driver's ed teacher at Shoreham-Wading River High School.

A 49-year-old Sound Beach man died after his pickup truck crashed into a telephone pole about 300 feet from his Sound Beach home on Saturday morning, police said.
According to police, Richard Cambria was driving his 2011 Dodge pickup truck south on Islip Drive when the truck left the roadway and struck a telephone pole and retaining wall in front of 27 Islip Drive at about 11:50 a.m.
Cambria, who lived on Islip Drive, was transported to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and anyone with information on the crash is asked to contact Seventh Squad detectives at 631-852-8752.
