Man Robs Ridge Bank

RIDGE, NY - Police are looking for man who robbed a bank in Ridge on Monday afternoon.

According to police, a man entered Astoria Bank, located at 1880 Middle Country Road, at 2:48 p.m. and handed a teller a note that demanded cash. The teller complied with the man’s demands and gave him cash. The man fled on foot westbound through the parking lot.

The robber was described as light skinned, possibly Hispanic, approximately 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7 with a medium build. He was wearing jeans, a blue jacket, tan shoes, possibly work boots, sunglasses and a baseball hat with a light-colored brim.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the robbery to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
