Miller Place High School Artist Succeeds Beyond the Classroom

MILLER PLACE, NEW YORK (APRIL 2023) — Gavin Sanfilippo received Honorable Mention for his work titled Sculpture Study at the 2nd Annual Student Artists Juried Show held by the Atelier at Flowerfield.

Gavin Sanfilippo’s outstanding artwork was also featured in the SCALA All-County Secondary Exhibition. On display was his portrait of Cindy Crawford titled "80's Icon.” Gavin captures the spirit of his subjects with great detail in his oversized portraits. This is the second consecutive year Gavin was featured in the Scala All-County Secondary Exhibition.

Mr. Kevin Slavin, Miller Place High School Principal stated, "Gavin is a tremendously talented, passionate, and motivated artist. His efforts in the school have brought artwork to our walls and beautified the environment within Miller Place High School. Gavin is an art student that we are extremely proud of and excited to see all that he accomplishes in the future."
