Miller Place Student Named New York National Geographic State Bee Semifinalist

Congrats to John Mari.

Miller Place School District’s North Country Road Middle School seventh grade student John Mari was recently named school champion and a semifinalist in the 2015 National Geographic Bee by the National Geographic Society.

As one of approximately 100 top-scoring students in each of the 50 states, Mari will now advance to compete in the state “Bees.”

School Bees were held in schools with fourth- through eighth-grade students throughout the state to determine each school champion. School champions then took a qualifying test, which they submitted to the National Geographic Society to receive eligibility to compete in the state “Bees.”
