The JAE 3rd Grade Beginner Chorus, under the direction of Craig Knapp, piano accompanist Betsy Infranco and student teacher Desireé DeMelfi, performed a joyful and challenging program of four songs resulting in a well-deserved standing ovation. The JAE 5th Grade Beginner Band, under the baton of Vinny Ragona, performed fun and difficult selections that the students enjoyed playing and were incredibly well-received by the audience.
“It was a monumental return to live music for the JAE School,” said Knapp, who is the Rocky Point Elementary music department chairperson and Joseph A. Edgar Intermediate School 3rd Grade beginner chorus director. “The Rocky Point students and community have waited a long time to have a spring concert. The music students have had to overcome so many obstacles in order to put together successful concerts. The wonderful concert that the children performed in is a true testament to their hard work, effort and dedication.”
