Panthers Scoreboard: Boys Basketball Posts 2 Wins

The boys and girls basketball teams both grabbed wins over the holiday vacation, but both squads fell to Eastport-South Manor High School just before Christmas break. Here's the scoring details of varsity games from Dec. 21-30.

Varsity Boys Basketball: The Panthers boys basketball team lost to the Eastport-South Manor Sharks on Dec. 21, Eastport/S Manor 59, Miller Place, 40. But the Miller Place boys redeemed themselves the next day, trampling Smithtown West, Miller Place 70, Smithtown W 51. In their last game before the New Year, the Panthers boys also nabbed a win to Shoreham-Wading River on Dec. 30, Miller Place 62, Shoreham WR 56. The Panthers boys get back to work today on the road against Kings Park at 5:45 p.m.

Varsity Girls Basketball: The Miller Place girls basketball team also dropped its game to Eastport-South Manor on Dec. 21, Eastport/S Manor 53, Miller Place 48. The lady Panthers' next game against Mt. Sinai at home Dec. 28 was canceled, but the girls inched out Uniondale for one last win before the end of the year, Miller Place 49, Uniondale, 45. The girls team makes its 2011 debut tonight against Kings Park at home. Stay tuned to Miller Place-Rocky Point Patch for the details of that match later this evening.
