Port Jeff Station Woman Critically Hurt in Smithtown Crash

The single-car accident occurred Sunday night.

A 21-year-old Port Jefferson Station woman is in critical condition following a single-car crash in Smithtown Sunday night.

According to police, Tiffany Aldughmy was driving a 2000 Honda Accord west on West Jericho Turnpike when her vehicle left the roadway, struck a fire hydrant, a fence and a portable utility light before overturning in front of 556 W. Jericho Turnpike at 7:11 p.m.

Aldughmy was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was listed in critical condition. A female passenger in the vehicle was transported to Stony Brook for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on this crash to call the Fourth Squad at631-854-8452.
