Rocky Point Athletes Receive State Honors

Seven Rocky Point High School varsity teams were recognized as New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete teams.

Seven Rocky Point High School varsity winter teams were recognized as New York State Public High School Athletic Association Scholar-Athlete teams for the 2021-22 winter season. The district is pleased to congratulate boys basketball, girls basketball, bowling, competitive cheerleading, boys indoor track and field, girls indoor track and field and the wrestling teams for their efforts.

At the end of each sports season, the NYSPHSAA honors teams and individuals who excel in the classroom. They are noted as student-athletes, teams and schools for their continued hard work throughout the year and deserve to be recognized for their academic success.

To receive Scholar-Athlete team recognition with a certificate, the team’s average GPA for 75% of the roster must be greater than or equal to 90%.
