Two Rocky Point School District staff members who both retired at the end of 2019
were honored for more than 40 years of collective service to the students of the district at a
recent board of education meeting.

Linda Tobiassen, a teacher aide at Frank J. Carasiti Elementary School, was lauded by Principal Dr. Virginia Gibbons as integral to the success of students at the school in her role as coach, friend, cheerleader and someone they regularly looked up to for her kindness. Michela McLoughlin, who served as an assistant in the main office at Joseph A. Edgar Intermediate School, was cited for her daily administrative support and sense of humor by JAE Principal Linda Murphy.
