Rocky Point Fifth Graders Place In Stock Market Game

The Joseph A. Edgar Intermediate School community is beaming with pride as it celebrates two students from David Falcone’s fifth grade class.

Layla Elgin and Sophia Fabian won third place for the Long Island Fall 2021 Stock Market Game in the Elementary Division. They worked as a team and competed against approximately 70 teams from schools across Long Island in the competition. Their efforts helped them to build a fundamental understanding of investing along with real-world skills and practice in math, English language arts, economics, social studies and other subjects.

They were awarded medals, certificates, shirts, headphones, sunglasses and other items from the Stock Market Game.

The Stock Market Game is a program of the SIFMA Foundation (Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association).
