Rocky Point High's Bryant Michael Liu Named Finalist in National Science Competition

Bryant will now compete in the final round of judging in the San Francisco Bay Area in early October.

Rocky Point High School freshman Bryant Michael Liu has been named one of 30 finalists in the 2015 Broadcom MASTERS middle school science competition and was the only honoree from Long Island.

Bryant will now compete in the final round of judging in the San Francisco Bay Area in early October. During this event, he will present his original research project to judges and the public, and will compete in hands-on STEM challenge activities with his fellow finalists.

Bryant was selected for this honor based on his 2014-15 science fair project – The Effects of Pretreatment on the Release of Simple Sugars from Plant Fallen Leaves – which he competed as part of the middle school’s science research program last school year.
