Rocky Point Man Had Drugs, Hypodermic Needles in Car With 3-Year-Old Child: Police
The 28-year-old was arrested on Saturday in New Jersey.

A Rocky Point man faces drug and child endangerment charges after being arrested in New Jersey last weekend.
According to Newark Police, at about 1 p.m. on Saturday, officers canvassing the area of Lincoln and Mercer streets, commonly known as the Oscar Miles Village housing complex, observed Jacob Vandijk, 28, in a parked vehicle with what appeared to be a hypodermic needle.
Officers found Vandijk in possession of glassine envelopes of suspected heroin and hypodermic needles, police said.

A 3-year old child, seated in a child seat, was also in the vehicle with Vandijk, police said.
Police arrested Vandijk without incident. The child was transported to University Hospital for screening.

Vandijk is charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of a child.
