Rocky Point Man Killed in Crash Into Pole
The accident occurred Sunday evening, police say.
EAST SHOREHAM, NY - A 60-year-old Rocky Point man was killed in a single-car crash in East Shoreham Sunday evening, police said.
According to police, Joseph Labate was driving his 2001 Isuzu Rodeo west on Route 25A when he apparently lost control of the SUV and struck a utility pole near Miller Avenue at about 6 p.m.
Labate was transported by Rocky Point Fire Department ambulance to John T. Mather Memorial Hospital in Port Jefferson Station, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

The Isuzu was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
