Rocky Point Middle School Chorus Host Singing Valentine Event

Press release from the Rocky Point School District:

March 7, 2022

Before the holiday break, the Rocky Point Middle School eighth grade chorus spent the week serenading the school community with their first festive Signing Valentine event.

Organized by chorus teacher Ms. Emily Lamia, the students were excited for the opportunity to showcase their voices. Ms. Lamia reported that there was much support and enthusiasm during the planning and implementation of this inaugural event. Students and staff helped in its success by sending a small gift plus a love or friendship song to friends and loved ones within the building.

“Singers and recipients were all smiles as the joy of singing and love spread throughout the school!" Ms. Lamia said. “It was my hope that it would generate a renewed excitement for the middle school chorus program,” she said, adding that she has already had students approach her to let her know that they will join chorus next year because of how much they enjoyed the experience.
