Rocky Point Senior Recognized On State Level

Press release from Rocky Point School District:

Dec. 8, 2021

Rocky Point High School senior Brenna Kiernan was selected to perform in the All-State Mixed Chorus in the New York State School Music Association All-State Winter Conference in Rochester, from Dec. 2-5.

Brenna is one of only 500 student musicians from the state who have been selected to participate in the festival. The rigorous process for selecting an All-State musician includes teacher recommendations, audition scores at the NYSSMA solo evaluation festival during the prior spring and participation in other performing organizations.

“She has been preparing the very challenging music for over a month and will have three full days of chorus rehearsals in Rochester before her concert performance on Saturday,” music teacher Jessica Spitz said.
