Rocky Point Students Perform With SCMEA Ensembles
More than 20 students were selected to perform with various Suffolk County Music Educators' Association All-County ensembles.

The Rocky Point School District congratulates 26 students who were selected to participate and perform with various Suffolk County Music Educators’ Association All-County ensembles this spring. SCMEA sponsors and organizes numerous All-County music festivals (band, orchestra and chorus) each year for students in grades 5-10.

A joint congratulations from Rocky Point Music Department chairpersons Craig Knapp and Amy Schecher read: “We are very proud of all of the students selected to perform at the SCMEA All-County Festival. Their accomplishments are to be celebrated. It is a high honor to be named to an All-County Festival. We would also like to thank our incredibly dedicated and hardworking music faculty for helping to prepare the students for this special event. Thank you also to the families of these talented students for all of their support and encouragement.”
Congratulations to the following talented student-musicians who were fortunate to perform in the first in-person county music festival in nearly three years: Joseph A. Edgar Intermediate School fifth graders Lilianna Bonacasa, Sena Donnelly, Phoebe Graham, Alexia Oliver and Emily Rothberg; Rocky Point Middle School sixth graders Samuel Celikors, Lana Contes, Cole Hess, Sadie Hess, Charles Hinst, Dean Ilardi, Taiga Matsumoto, Brielle Merlo, Peyton Murphy and Natalie Savoia, seventh grader Jeremy Moriarty and eighth graders Olivia Carley, Yuuki Donnelly and Ava Sivillo; Rocky Point High School freshman Allyson Opitz and sophomores Hayley Colon, Ava Dantuono, Sophia Haviland, Elyse Nadeau, Renee Ortiz and Emmanuel Watkis.
