Middle Island Woman Part Of Pair Arrested In Farmingdale: Police

They were caught with a loaded handgun in Farmingdale, Nassau police said.

FARMINGDALE, NY — A Middle Island woman was one of two people caught with a loaded handgun during a drug investigation in Farmingdale on Sunday, Nassau police said.

Shantel Colon, 20, and Treshawn Lane, 25, of Hauppauge were arrested during an investigation into the sale of narcotics near Main and North Front streets, and a loaded handgun was recovered by detectives, police said.

Colon and Lane were each charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal possession of a firearm, and fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, according to police.

Lane was also charged with a second count of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

The pair had been scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Sunday.
