Sarcoidosis of Long Island Hosts 2nd Annual Awareness Walk

Sarcoidosis of Long Island hosted their 2nd Annual Awareness Walk on Saturday, April 16th.

MOUNT SINAI, NY – On Saturday, April 16th, Suffolk County Legislator Sarah Anker joined Councilwoman Valerie Cartwright, President of Sarcoidosis of Long Island Frank Rivera and the many members and supporters of the not-for-profit organization Sarcoidosis of Long Island at the 2nd Annual Sarcoidosis Awareness Walk held at the North Shore Heritage Park in Mount Sinai. The walk was an effort to raise awareness about the rare disease, Sarcoidosis, which is caused by the collection of inflammatory cells that affect the organs and immune system.

“I am happy to see the community come together to support individuals and families that are affected by Sarcoidosis,” said Legislator Anker. “Thank you to Sarcoidosis of Long Island for their continued efforts to raise awareness.”
