Second Place Music Honors For Rocky Point Student

The Rocky Point School District congratulates Rocky Point Middle School student Yuuki Donnelly for being a participant in the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra of New York’s Concerto and Vocal Competition Finalists Concert on March 30 in Centerport.

Yuuki, who performed on violin, was among only four in the Instrumental Finalists Division I (grades 4-8) and only 16 featured performers in the competition. He was awarded second place in Division l. Yuuki performed "Violin Concerto No. 3 in B Minor,Opus 61" by Camille Saint-Saëns by memory.
Yuuki was selected by an esteemed jury which included Hofstra University professor Dr. David Fryling, Manhattan School of Music professor Maureen Hynes and Patchogue-Medford High School music teacher Rudy Johnson.
