Shops In Miller Place, Mount Sinai Sold E-Cigarettes To Minors: SCPD

Two men got field appearance tickets, and more than 6,900 flavored vape and THC products were seized from the businesses, police say.

MILLER PLACE, NY — Two men were arrested after Suffolk police said they sold e-cigarettes to people under 21 during compliance checks at businesses in Miller Place and Mount Sinai on Thursday.

Police investigated two stores between 5 and 8 p.m. after complaints from the community.

People at these two shops were arrested, and the businesses were cited, police said:

  • An 18-year-old employee of MNT Convenience Vape, at 5507-3 Route 347, Mount Sinai. He was charged with unlawful sale of cannabis and unlawful sale of nicotine/vape to persons under 21 years of age.
  • A 35-year-old employee of Miller Place Vape, at 345 Route 25A, Miller Place. He was charged with two counts of unlawful sale of nicotine/vape to persons under 21 years of age.

Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers seized more than 6,900 flavored vape and THC products from the businesses, police said.

The arrestees were issued field appearance tickets and will be arraigned at First District Court in
Central Islip at a later date.
