at "Proudly We Served" Event in Ridge

Farmingville, NY – On April 28, Supervisor Ed Romaine and Councilwoman Jane Bonner attended a presentation of “Proudly We Served” at Leisure Glen in Ridge. The event was organized by Mary Ann Fox, who created the 112-page book “Proudly We Serve,” featuring interviews with veterans from World War II, the Korean War, the Cold War era and the Vietnam War. The invocation was given by Msgr. Charles Fink, a Vietnam Veteran and the author of the poem "Bury Me with Soldiers." Supervisor Romaine said, “It was an honor to stand among veterans who have sacrificed so much to preserve freedom and liberty around the world. It is important that their words are preserved, and they know we are grateful for their service, courage and patriotism.”

Councilwoman Bonner said, “It was my privilege to experience Mary Ann’s presentation with such a patriotic group of people who have sacrificed so much in the name of liberty. Many lives have been changed for the better because they made a commitment to freedom around the world.”
