1. Suffolk police removed the request for Sound Beach residents to shelter in place Sunday. A man barricaded himself into a home on Babylon Drive and suffered self-inflicted but non-life-threatening injuries. The shelter in place request was issued at 2:41 p.m. (Subscription: Newsday)

Police pulled over a Toyota on Hempstead Turnpike with no headlights and found a knife in the cup holder, a handgun and 30 rounds of ammunition. Adams Banton, 19, is charged with criminal possession.
