Woman Hurt As SUV Veers Off Road, Strikes Two Mailboxes And Utility Pole In Sound Beach: Police
She was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Suffolk police say.
SOUND BEACH, NY — A 21-year-old Rocky Point woman was hurt when she lost control of her SUV, and it veered off the roadway, striking two mailboxes, and crashed into a utility pole late Friday night, Suffolk police said.
She was driving a 2012 Volkswagen SUV westbound on Rocky Point Road, just east of Brookhaven Drive, when she lost control of the vehicle at around 11:20 p.m., according to police.
She was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
