Worker Killed While Installing Cesspool At Long Island Home
The worker became trapped underground Saturday morning. His body was found four hours later, police say.

SHOREHAM, NY – A 6o-year-old man died after he became trapped underground while installing a cesspool at a Long Island home Saturday morning, police said.
According to Suffolk Police, a crew from an unnamed company was installing a cesspool at a home located at 8 Josephine Boulevard in Shoreham when the ground gave way, trapping Kurt Peiscopgrau, of Northport, at about 11:25 a.m.
Peiscopgrau’s body was recovered by Emergency Service Section officers at 3:15 p.m.

Officers were assisted in the recovery by members of the Rocky Point, Hagerman, and Brookhaven National Lab fire departments as well as several additional fire departments and employees of the Suffolk County Department of Public Works. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was notified.
It's the second fatal cesspool accident in Suffolk County this year. In May, a 59-year-old man died while installing a cesspool in Huntington.
