Two people each face a charge of placing a false bomb after more than 100 bottles of an unknown liquid was found outside the County Legislature building in Mineola on Thursday, police say.
According to authorities, Suzanne Myron, 51, of Woodbury, and Stephen Figurasmith, 32, of Valley Stream, placed about 120 bottles of an unknown liquid in front of the building's main entrance, located at 1550 Franklin Ave., during a protest around 1:30 p.m. Another 125 bottles were found in a car parked nearby, police say.
Authorities took the liquid in for testing and determined it was non-hazardous.
Myron and Figurasmith were arrested for their alleged involvement in the incident and were both charged with first-degree placing a false bomb.
They will both be arraigned on Friday at First District Court in Hempstead.
