87-Year-Old Woman Dies After Striking Pole While Driving: Police

NORTH HILLS, NY — An 87-year-old woman died after she struck a pole while driving in North Hills on Tuesday morning, police said.

Nassau County police said that at approximately 10:35 a.m., a woman was driving a 2005 Buick southbound on Shelter Rock Road in the vicinity of Fairway Drive when she struck a pole.

She was transported to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased, police said.

NCPD said the investigation is still ongoing.
