Drunk Driver With 2 Prior Convictions in 10 Years Busted in Montauk: Police

The man was driving with no headlights, police said.

MONTAUK, NY - A man with two prior DWI convictions in 10 years was nabbed driving drunk again in Montauk, police said.

According to East Hampton Town Police, Michael J. Lounsbury, 34, was arrested on Friday at 1:15 a.m. on South Edison Street in Montauk.

He was driving north in a gray Lincoln Suburban without headlights, then made a left turn on to South Edison Street from South Emerson, failing to signal, police said.

Lounsbury was found to have the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, slurred speech, bloodshot, glassy eyes, and was unsteady on his feet, police said. He performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests, police said.

Lounsbury was charged with driving while intoxicated, a felony, due to two prior convictions in 10 years, as well as first degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle a felony, police said.
