Intoxicated Driver Busted in Montauk: Police

The man was arrested on Edgemere Street, police said.

MONTAUK, NY — A Montauk man was caught driving drunk recently, police said.

According to East Hampton Town Police, Clive Anthony Cunningham, 49, was arrested on July 24 at 10:33 p.m. after he was seen driving a 2001 Dodge south on Edgemere Street in Montauk and failing to maintain his lane of travel, crossing over the white fog line.

Cunningham had the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, bloodshot, glassy eyes, slurred speech, was unsteady on his feet and performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests, police said.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated, first offense, a misdemeanor, police said.
